Position Overview:

The Electronics Engineering Team Leader will report directly to the Engineering Manager, taking charge of the electronics team responsible for developing innovative product concepts.

This role entails spearheading the development of next-generation products, managing projects and resources, and cultivating a collaborative, high-performance work culture. Direct reports will include the Electronics Engineer and Senior Electronics Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with senior management to establish the strategic vision for the electronics engineering division. Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of electronics engineers.

Technical Expertise:
Utilize software tools for circuit analysis, conduct simulations, create schematic diagrams, and generate wiring layouts. Implement design modifications based on performance evaluations and client feedback.

Project and Resource Oversight:
Effectively allocate resources, including personnel and equipment, to maximize project success.

Identify areas for process enhancement and apply best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the electronics engineering workflow.

Regularly update senior management on project status, resource requirements, and potential obstacles.

Hardware Design Management:
Supervise the development of detailed schematic diagrams for electronic systems. Conduct comprehensive analyses of schematic designs, focusing on signal integrity, power distribution, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Embedded Software Development:
Oversee the creation of embedded software/firmware for microcontrollers. Design and implement communication protocols for data interchange between electronic components and systems. Develop and execute thorough testing plans for embedded software.

PCB Layout Supervision:
Manage the PCB layout process, optimizing component placement, signal routing, and thermal management.

Prototyping Leadership:
Direct the development of hardware prototypes, iterating design cycles to refine and enhance electronic systems.

Essential Qualifications:
Australian citizenship is required due to necessary security clearance. A Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a closely related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in electronic design and development, encompassing both hardware and firmware. Proficiency with microcontrollers (preferably Microchip), PCB layout design using Altium Designer, and GIT source control. Familiarity with product compliance in automotive and military sectors. Strong skills in C programming and extensive knowledge of circuit design, modeling, and simulation.
