Job Summary: The Construction Recruiter is responsible for sourcing attracting and hiring skilled professionals for various roles within the construction industry. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes industry trends and the specific skills required for positions such as project managers site supervisors laborers engineers and skilled trades. The Construction Recruiter works closely with hiring managers and HR teams to develop and execute recruitment strategies that align with the organizations construction projects and workforce needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. EndtoEnd Recruitment:

    • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for construction roles including job postings candidate sourcing interviewing and onboarding.
    • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates for positions such as project managers site supervisors laborers civil engineers electricians carpenters and other construction professionals.
    • Conduct initial screenings and technical interviews to assess candidates qualifications experience and fit for construction environments.
  2. Collaboration with Hiring Managers:

    • Partner with construction project managers and site supervisors to understand the specific requirements of each role including technical skills certifications and experience with construction projects.
    • Provide guidance on best practices for interviewing and candidate selection within the construction industry.
    • Regularly update hiring managers on the progress of open positions and provide insights on the candidate market.
  3. Candidate Experience:

    • Ensure a positive candidate experience by maintaining clear and timely communication throughout the recruitment process.
    • Provide candidates with detailed information about the company its construction projects safety protocols and the specific role they are applying for.
    • Manage the offer process including salary negotiation and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
  4. IndustrySpecific Recruitment:

    • Source candidates who have specific experience in construction settings including knowledge of industry regulations safety standards and quality control measures.
    • Leverage industryspecific networks job boards and trade associations to identify potential candidates.
    • Promote the companys commitment to safety quality and project delivery in candidate outreach and engagement.
  5. Market Research and Insights:

    • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends salary benchmarks and the availability of construction talent.
    • Provide datadriven insights and recommendations to hiring managers and HR leadership to help inform recruitment strategies.
    • Stay updated on the latest construction technologies tools and best practices to enhance recruitment efforts.
  6. Employer Branding:

    • Collaborate with the HR and marketing teams to promote the companys employer brand within the construction community.
    • Represent the company at industry events job fairs and networking functions to attract top construction talent.
    • Create and share content that highlights the companys culture values and career opportunities in construction on various platforms.
  7. Data and Reporting:

    • Track and analyze key recruitment metrics such as timetofill costperhire and quality of hire to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
    • Prepare reports and presentations on recruitment activities candidate pipelines and hiring outcomes for HR leadership and business stakeholders.
    • Use datadriven insights to continuously improve recruitment processes and decisionmaking.
  8. Compliance and Record Keeping:

    • Ensure compliance with all federal state and local employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process.
    • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of candidate interactions and recruitment activities in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
    • Assist in preparing compliance reports such as EEO1 and other regulatory filings as required.
  9. Continuous Improvement:

    • Continuously seek opportunities to improve recruitment processes leveraging feedback from hiring managers and candidates.
    • Participate in professional development and training to enhance recruitment skills and knowledge specific to the construction industry.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of new recruitment strategies and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Construction Management Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 35 years of experience in recruitment with a focus on construction roles.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective recruitment strategies for construction positions.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fastpaced environment.
