Regional Medicaid Pending Specialist

The primary purpose of this position is to assist all CT iCare managed facilities with Medicaid Pending cases and collections and provide guidance, direction and leadership to all on-site facility business office staff.

Responsibilities:

Managing and tracking all Medicaid Pending cases

Meeting with families and responsible parties to asssit in Medicaid Pending process

Ongoing contact with DSS regarding open cases and paystarts

Ensure monthly AR reviews are completed on a monthly basis and communicate systemic major cases to VP of RCM

Provide training and support to Business Office staff

Will provide back-up support during business office vacancies

Maintain/Reduce Write-Off level

Maintain an ongoing list of T-19 pending/status - follow up w/SNF's monthly

Monitors collection process

Audit & review standardized tracking systems

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of various software programs, required.
  • Must have experience in long term care business office functions.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid billing procedures, required.
  • At least 5 years experience in Medicaid pending procedures.
  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related area, preferred.
  • Must be highly organized with strong verbal and written communication skills.
