Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary: The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller and the accounting team to support the company by performing month-end close, reconciliations, and providing insights on various accounting and financial matters. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Month-End Close and Reconciliations: Maintain the general ledger, including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.

+ Ensure the timely and accurate closing of books on a monthly basis.

+ Financial Analysis and Ad Hoc Projects: Perform analysis and provide insights on ad hoc projects as determined by the Controller.

+ Act as the key contact for lease accounting, sales and use tax preparation and filing, FP&A, financial reporting projects, and resolution of accounting issues.

+ Assist with process improvements, tax schedules, and sales by state analysis.

+ Collaboration and Policy Implementation: Collaborate with other key members of the organization to support and improve business processes and accounting systems.

+ Assist in updating and implementing company policies and procedures.

+ Identify opportunities to efficiently provide fiduciary leadership and promote a strong internal controls environment.

+ Compliance and Internal Controls: Support compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, including active participation in control matrix and process narrative updates.

+ Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures and assist in the ongoing development and implementation of new controls, policies, and procedures.

+ Financial Reporting and Business Performance Analysis: Assist in the preparation of interpretive analysis of business performance for management use.

+ Ensure the accuracy, usefulness, and timeliness of financial statements provided to management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

+ A Bachelors degree required in accounting and experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

+ Minimum 5 years of experience as a Staff/General Ledger Accountant, Accounting Supervisor/Accounting Manager, in a manufacturing environment.

+ AS400 Legacy ERP experience preferred.

+ Advanced Excel, Microsoft Office, and PDF skills required.

+ Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting practices and principles, financial statements and financial analysis methods and tools
