The role will support four groups: Ryder Fuel Services (RFS), Real Estate (RE), Construction, and Building Maintenance (BM). The Accounting Manager will independently interact with external senior management/senior leadership for both external and internal stakeholders. Create, maintain, and enhance recurring reporting/analysis responsibilities in support of Ryder US FMS and SCS business segments. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for engaging Sr leadership and operational personnel to establish and/or clarify accounting policies in accordance with established processes and GAAP/Company policies for over $1B of Real Estate assets, $100M/year in CAPEX spend, $20M/year revenue, and over 40k AP/AR yearly transactions. The Accounting Manager will prepare, analyze, and present the segment’s financial results to senior leadership. The Accounting Manager will partner with senior leadership to develop financial models for new service and product offerings to drive revenue growth. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for managing the daily operations of the accounting team, which includes identifying and solving accounting and business issues as they arise and developing and implementing strategies/solutions to streamline day-to-day AP/AR functions through the four supported groups. Prepare, analyze, and present the segment's financial results to senior management/leadership. File quarterly and annual internal and external financial assessments. Quarterly/monthly, prepare and review variance analysis for both Ryder and external customers. Manage and facilitate financial/accounting engagement with various stakeholders (vendors, customers, suppliers, etc.), feedback sessions, general outreach, process improvements, and training as needed to drive AP/AR processing and operational efficiencies. Lead (mentor/manage) the accounting team by training and developing them in accounting guidance and company policies to ensure accounting controls are maintained effectively. Support strategic planning and identify opportunities and risks through data analysis, modeling, and quantitative data compilation to include the development of Requests for Capital (RCE). Provide a variety of reports and presentations, high-level data analysis, and engage/communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. Facilitate goal-oriented financial performance criteria/tools development and work targets to ensure the financial goals are driven throughout the four supported groups. Responsible for alignment with GAAP/corporate compliance requirements. Manage the month-end, quarterly, and yearly accounting activities to report the segment’s financial results timely and accurately. Responsible for reviewing and approving balance sheet account reconciliations and providing guidance to segment leadership in resolving and reconciling items as needed. Develop/enhance accounting/financial framework for the supported groups by formulating and implementing effective policies and procedures to ensure compliance and continuously improve operational efficiencies. Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide needed information for audit requirements. Lead organizational vendors/supplier management compliance requirements and participate in ad hoc projects as needed. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance (required). Master's degree in accounting/finance preferred. EXPERIENCE Five (8) years or more experience in public accounting. Workday experience preferred. Advanced in Excel. SKILLS Super relationship competencies: leading team, building partnerships, customer focus, coaching. Detail-oriented and excellent analytical, communication (written and oral), organizational, and research skills. Display exceptional judgment, using internal and external organizational knowledge, trends, and financial data to diagnose business strengths and weaknesses while keeping a financial perspective at the forefront when making business decisions and leading the team. Experience driving results, driving innovation, and facilitating change. Ability to organize and manage multiple processes and projects. Experience interacting/communicating with senior and executive leadership. LICENSES Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Upon Hire, required). TRAVEL 10% - 20% Bonus: 20% Job Category: Accounting Compensation Information : The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. Compensation ranges for the position are below: Pay Type: Salaried Minimum Pay Range: 100,000.00 Maximum Pay Range: 125,000.00 The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
