This position will be responsible for overseeing customer invoicing, complex cost accounting, commissions, day-to-day accounting activities, and assisting with the monthly close.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the creation of customer project invoices, ensuring accuracy in cost verification, determination of sales tax, and commission allocation.
  • Process commission reports and ensure timely and accurate compensation to sales personnel.
  • Code and enter accounts payable, ensuring that vendor invoices and payments are handled efficiently and in compliance with company policies.
  • Post customer receipts, resolve discrepancies, and proactively contact past-due accounts to facilitate timely collections.
  • Prepare and review general ledger entries, maintain financial records and files, and reconcile accounts to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Process and review expense reports to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
  • Review income and expense accounts for correct classification and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Collaborate in the preparation of month-end financial statements by gathering and analyzing data from the general ledger to provide meaningful financial insights.
  • Address accounting and financial inquiries by conducting research and interpreting data to support informed decision-making.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial information and data.
Requirements:
  • Accounting degree.
  • Experience in complex cost accounting, invoicing customers, verifying costs and determining sales tax status.
  • Minimum three years accounting experience, preferably in a distribution environment.
  • General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of sales and use tax.
  • Previous experience with ERP systems.
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills.
  • Strong work ethic and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products, with advanced Excel skills required.
  • Able to multi-task and effectively prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive personality and a willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
