Assist and support the Compliance Director with the compliance functions of the organization to include (1) analyzing regulations related to healthcare compliance and helping to ensure the organization complies with these regulations; (2) auditing and monitoring to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations; (3) perform compliance and privacy investigations under the direction of the Compliance Director; (4) assist in strengthening the compliance program; (5) oversee sanction screening; (6) assist with compliance training and communications; and (7) exercise independent decision making in accordance with guidelines and policy. Essential Functions: Compliance Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives. Maintains a working knowledge of relevant laws, rules, and regulations governing healthcare regulatory compliance (i.e., CMS, OIG, etc.) governing healthcare regulatory compliance and keeping abreast of current changes that may affect health care systems. Understanding of CMS regulations and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services regulations. Stays current on relevant and emerging industry and government compliance program guidance, investigations, and audits; stay abreast of and provides updates regarding changes in legislation, regulations and other requirements that may result in organizational response. Provides oversight of regulatory compliance projects. Assists with initial interpretation of relevant regulatory compliance regulations and guidelines. Develops expertise and perform research in compliance and issues as requested. Assists Compliance Director with inspections, audit responses and questions, as required. Assists in implementation of overall Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct; consult and provide guidance on a regular basis on related issues with operations directors/managers to ensure conformance with applicable laws and regulations. Develop presentations for the Compliance Management Committees and work groups. Assists in periodic reviews and revisions of the Compliance policies and procedures. Assists in developing metrics to demonstrate compliance effectiveness. Assists in documentation of compliance activities. Internal Investigations & Reviews Works with the Compliance Director to appropriately investigate and remediate allegations of improper/illegal activities. Performs and document internal investigations in accordance with applicable legal requirements and organizational policies and procedures. Investigates alleged HIPAA breaches and recommends appropriate sanctions. Investigates incidents, document findings; monitor completion of corrective actions plans. Compliance Education & Training Supports the compliance training programs on a day-to-day basis. Research and author educational materials. Provides compliance educational and training offerings. Compiles, analyze and integrate reports, spreadsheets, benchmarks, data, and metrics for continuous improvement of the Compliance Program functions, productivity, and outcomes; develop tools, forms, and educational materials to improve organizational Compliance Program performance. Auditing & Monitoring Identifies of focus areas by the OIG and other regulatory bodies to assist in forming the compliance work plan. Performs compliance risk assessments, under the direction of the Compliance Director, including development and completion of action plans to address findings. Assists with auditing and monitoring to ensure compliance with all federal, state & local regulations, as well as fiduciary requirements, and identify areas of vulnerability and risk. Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree and five (5) years’ healthcare experience. Current Certification in Healthcare Compliance or attained within 2 years of employment in this role. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Demonstrated leadership; familiarity with operational, financial, and quality improvement; strong ability to accomplish goals and objectives through influence and collaboration. Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Car travel to various off-site locations is required in all types of weather and occasional exposure to clinical areas. Physical Requirements:
