Vaco is hiring for a Senior Loss Prevention & Compliance Officer located in Marshall, MN

Function
The Senior Loss Prevention & Compliance Officer is responsible for assisting with keeping the Company’s activities within the guidelines, regulations, and ethical expectations for our retail environment by monitoring business operations and reporting infractions, reviewing Company policies for potential risks and liabilities and researching legal requirements for new initiatives. Ensures full and complete compliance with state and federal OSHA, FFL/ATF, and all other applicable regulatory agencies.         

Organizational Relationships
  • The Senior Loss Prevention & Compliance Officer reports to the Director of Operations.
  • The Senior Loss Prevention & Compliance Officer works closely with the Director of Human Resources regarding Safety and Worker’s Compensation.
  • The Senior Loss Prevention & Compliance Officer supervises the Loss prevention Manager, Safety & Worker’s Compensation Manager and the Federal Firearms License Coordinators.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform regular audits of business procedures and processes to ensure all Company employees are adhering to legal standards and in-house policies related to Loss Prevention, Safety & Worker’s Compensation, and Federal Firearms Licensing.
  • Develop and maintain a Company-wide Loss Prevention Program that will reduce inventory shrink, enhance customer service, and positively impact the growth of the Company.
  • Develop and maintain a Company-wide Safety Program that will reduce workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Analyze internal business systems to ensure compliance with industry regulations and ethical standards.
  • Create, modify, update and implement the company’s policies relating to Loss Prevention, Safety & Worker’s Compensation, and Federal Firearms Licensing.
  • Develop risk management strategies.
  • Develop and implement internal procedure audits ensuring operational processes/procedures are followed to minimize internal and external theft, proper receiving controls and other potential areas of loss.  This may include trips to any and all organization’s locations.
  • Oversee and maintain a company policy regarding the appropriate handling of firearms to meet all ATF requirements.
  • Design ongoing training programs for employees of the business.
  • Liaise with other departmental heads to ensure that all business operations are in line with business policies.
  • Advise the top management on business operations relating to investment, risks and any other policy development.
  • Responsible for the physical security of buildings and facilities to include the Company’s loss prevention alarm systems and tools, making recommendations for changes/updates as necessary on areas such as:
  • Sensormatic system
  • Building/Store security
  • Door control
  • Camera systems
  • Deactivation system
  • Develop and submit appropriate reports to Executive Management providing the appropriate information at the appropriate timing to keep them informed of our loss prevention, safety and compliance progress, projects, and other updates.
  • Emergency processes/procedures
  • Significant travel will be required to organization’s stores and distribution center locations.
  • Any and all other duties as necessary to effectively perform the purpose of this position.

  • Ability to learn new skills.

Education, Training and Experience
  • Five years of Compliance/Loss Prevention related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree om Business Management, Legal Studies, Business Administration or related preferred

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
