FWP's Mission: Steward the fish, wildlife, parks, and recreational resources for the public, now and into the future. The Administration Division provides administrative and financial support services to all divisions, seven regional offices, and four area offices in the Department. The Department has centralized all accounting functions within the Accounting Bureau, which is responsible for ensuring all financial transactions are processed and properly recorded in the Statewide Accounting, Budgeting, and Human Resource System (SABHRS). Job Duties: Accounting Manager for centralized accounting office with responsibility for the Agency's Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset and Lease Management, Grants and Contract, GL Accounting, Payroll, and State Procard processing. This position is responsible for providing assistance to the Financial Manager/Accounting Bureau Chief and other Accounting Bureau Staff to ensure compliance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Montana Operations Manual (MOM) Policies, and state and federal regulations. This position has direct supervision of 8 staff and reports to the Accounting Bureau Chief. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for the First Day of Work: Knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, and procedures of governmental accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of state and federal policies and laws. Ability to use and learn automated accounting and financial software. Ability to plan, organize, gather information, and conduct research. Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively. Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using extensive spreadsheets, word processing, databases, email, internet, and other computer programs. Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): The knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position are normally attained through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field and five years of accounting and fiscal management experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
