Leveragingyour expertise, you will develop and implement a robust portfolio strategy, lead trading activities, conduct in-depth market analysis, build strong relationships with key stakeholders and optimize portfolio performance.Key responsibilities include: Comprehensive Portfolio Strategy and Management: Create and implement a comprehensive portfolio strategy aligned with 3Degrees' overall business objectives. Set clear performance benchmarks and risk parameters. Contribute to comprehensive portfolio management, including meticulous tracking of positions, deliveries, receipts, and audits Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate portfolio risks. Implement robust risk management frameworks and controls Cover Broker Markets, Traders, and Exchanges: Navigate the intricacies of the Carbon & Renewable Fuels market (e.g., CCA, RGGI, LCFS) by establishing strong relationships with brokers and traders. Liaise daily with over 15 brokers to discuss market dynamics and pricing of Carbon & Renewable Fuels Lead Trading Activities: Buy and sell Carbon & Renewable Fuels to meet portfolio needs, while identifying and executing profitable trading strategies based on your understanding of market trends and risk management principles Pricing and Support: Ensure the portfolio is accurately valued using mark-to-market accounting practices. Furthermore, integrate exchange positions into the portfolio on a real-time basis for complete transparency Identify and Capitalize on Opportunities: Identify and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities throughout the US Carbon & Fuels book, maximizing portfolio returns Policy and Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities through collaboration with the Regulatory Affairs team, and convert insights into trading strategies. Here's a roadmap to excelling in this role: Within30 days, Gain a comprehensive understanding of 3Degrees' environmental markets business and strategic goals Become familiar with the trading team structure, processes, tools, and systems Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across organization Demonstrate a strong grasp of the Carbon & Renewable Fuels markets (CCA, RGGI, LCFS) Within 90 days, Contribute meaningfully to portfolio management tasks, including position tracking and market analysis Become well versed on deal structuring and your role in implementation Begin collaborating with the Head Trader and analysts to identify trading opportunities Within 6 months, Independently executing at least 1 trade per business day, and adhering to risk management principles and portfolio needs Partner with the Regulatory Affairs team to translate policy changes into actionable trading strategies Take ownership of specific market areas and contribute to the development of market models Within 1 year, Demonstrating your ability to generate substantial value in the portfolio Consistently execute profitable trades, driving portfolio value growth and mitigating risk Become a subject matter expert for team, providing guidance and support to colleagues Identify and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities across the US Carbon & Fuels book As you enter your second year, you are contributing to the ongoing strategic direction of this trading desk and are transacting 2 profitable trades per day COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The following compensation and benefits information is based on 3Degrees’ good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future: Compensation: The starting base salary for this position is $147,000.00 to $169,000.00 in the US. Total compensation for a successful candidate will exceed the base pay as it includes incentive compensation. Base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands.
