Initiates and leads educational activities for comprehensive stroke requirements at other HCA campuses. Conducts mock Code Neuros during normal and off-shift hours at different HCA campuses. Responsible for facilitating and coordinating the key elements of the Stroke Center Certification process. Educates staff and physicians on standards compliance and assessment/treatment for acute stroke patients. Leads or participates actively in patient-centered research related to stroke. Interacts with patients and families of acute stroke patients to determine care protocol compliance and patient satisfaction. Aggregates and reports on data relevant to certification programs. Develops written reports related to assessments and recommends changes in the clinical practice environment. Assists facility staff to achieve competencies around care of the stroke patient. Works collaboratively with department directors to evaluate educational needs of staff. What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Current Virginia State licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse or compact license. Specialty Certification. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
