Position Summary: The Accel Group is growing, and we have a unique opportunity for an experienced Benefits Advisor to join our Quad Cities team In this role, you will focus on two areas: The sale of group benefit products and services to local employers. This includes partnering with clients to determine their group benefit needs, evaluating their current offerings, and identifying opportunities for new plans or products. You will also educate clients on plan design, different funding models, potential rate structures, and detailed coverage information. You will have annual sales goals and be expected to continually prospect for new business, while also maintaining renewal business throughout the year. You will also work closely with our carrier partners and account management team to service new and renewal business throughout the year. Work with the team on multiple health and welfare plans for clients of our RJ Lee office. Our RJ Lee team specializes in benefits consulting and administration in the Union/Taft-Hartley arena. You will be expected to acquire and maintain operational and detailed knowledge of all funds and benefit plans, with a specific focus on pension, annuity, and retirement funds. You will work closely with several different union groups and regularly interact with the leaders and members of those unions. You will be responsible for providing plan information and answering questions about benefits, coverage, claims, etc. You will also be heavily involved in reviewing and examining the groups' claims experience, with a strong focus on reporting and analysis.This is an ideal position for someone who is passionate about the industry and helping clients with their benefit needs.Location: This position will be based out of our Moline, IL office.Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time position that comes with a comprehensive benefits package and a compensation plan that will include a base salary plus commission.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Life, health, and accident insurance licenses for both Iowa and Illinois (required upon hire if not already possessed).Sales experience in the group benefits/health insurance industry.Experience with Taft-Hartley or collectively bargained plans is helpful but not required.Thorough knowledge and understanding of group benefit products and services.Strong sales, negotiation, and decision making skills.A valid driver's license and the ability to drive a vehicle to meet with existing and prospective clients.Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to have positive customer interactions and maintain positive customer relationships.Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects or tasks, meet established deadlines, and change priorities as business needs require.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication.The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, but also independently with minimal daily supervision.
