Responsibilities for Accounting Manager • Cooperate with other accounting personnel for general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes. • Work with inventory management software and outside reports such as Amazon and Shopify. • Payroll and 401K calculations and related management, input to ADP/American Fund site • Compile information with monthly, quarterly, and year-end book closings and report to the CFO. • Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements working with the CFO. • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested. • Communicate with company personnel to gather information for book closing. • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships. • Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.

Qualifications for Accounting Manager • 5+ years of accounting experience. • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization • Strong dedication to driving and achieving results. • Knowledge of employee relationship-building and performance-management techniques • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with QuickBooks online • English/Japanese bilingual is a big plus
