Position Overview:
As a pivotal member of our team, the Division Controller plays a crucial role in the local Accounting Department, providing leadership and support to both internal and external clients, as well as collaborating with Executive Leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a strategic partner to the Division President and Director of Financial Services.
2. Oversee and manage accounting operations within the Division.
3. Foster effective communication with Client Accounting and Community Association Managers to ensure outstanding client service.
4. Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial deliverables, including financial statements and vendor payments.
5. Assist finance committees in reviewing and analyzing financial statements.
6. Prepare and coordinate client data for tax purposes and audits.
7. Support the development of client budgets and monitor expenses.
8. Ensure accurate closure of monthly and annual accounts receivable.
9. Participate in customer service initiatives by addressing client inquiries.
10. Collaborate with reserve study specialists for annual studies.
11. Assist in resolving vendor issues related to accounts payable.
12. Implement and manage accounting internal controls.
13. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
14. Define and uphold standards, policies, and procedures.
15. Analyze revenue and EBITDA results, providing recommendations for improvement.
16. Train staff on accounting systems and procedures.
17. Assist in resolving performance issues within the accounting team.
18. Build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a professional environment.
- Leadership experience and advanced certifications are preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
- Experience in the Community Management industry is advantageous.
Special Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and compliance with company policy regarding vehicle insurance.
Work Environment:
- Standard office equipment usage, including computers and phones.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional travel may be required.
