San Jose, United States Cisco Full time

At Duo, we put people first - whether that's protecting user data for the over 40,000 customers who use our cybersecurity protection or supporting the people who work every day to make our products effective, user-focused, and intuitive. We don't thrive on fear, uncertainty, and doubt; we build secure access solutions you can trust. Our mission is simple: democratize security by making it easy and effective for everyone. We're transforming security from the ground up by solving the world's most pressing geopolitical challenge - safe, secure information access. We engineer our business to enable our customers to easily address their ever-evolving security challenges.

We believe that impactful work is rewarding work and that our team is at its best when everyone feels empowered to bring their whole self to work. We learn together by hiring for cultural contribution, not cultural fit, and recognize that diversity in background and thought is essential to building high-impact teams. We invest in growth and learning opportunities and encourage our people to never stop learning. We foster collaboration and believe in being recognized (and rewarded) for hard work. We promote a healthy work-life balance. We're kinder than necessary.

Together we build for the future by designing simple solutions for complex problems. And that's why we're the most loved and trusted name in security.

What You'll Do

Duo is looking for a Product Manager to join our Platform team. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers, architects, and other product managers to create a roadmap and strategy that improves the reliability, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance of the Duo platform. Our ideal candidate comes from a technical background and can speak the language of our engineering team.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Create a product vision and roadmap for Duo's platform capabilities.
  • Build and maintain a prioritization framework based on objective data.
  • Produce concise business case documents, presentations and product requirements documents (PRD) to enable effective product investment decisions.
  • Manage product requests from customers, sales, partners and team members.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, researchers, product managers, sales, customer success, support, and other team members to understand problems, capture new ideas, and systematically prioritize the most important projects.
  • Lead internal and external customer discovery conversations that influence product decisions.
  • Represent the voice and needs of the customer and ability to translate this to clear requirements for engineering and support teams
  • Define product-related objectives and key results (OKRs) and communicate related progress internally.
  • Evangelize product strategy internally (e.g. with sales, engineering, and other product organizations) and externally with customers and partners.
  • Own cross-functional interactions for your area of the product including Sales, Customer Success and Support.
Who You Are

Product Managers play a highly visible role in the company and are critical to the development and execution of the product strategy. We deliver the best experience for our users. As the product expert, you excel at prioritization, collaboration, and communication, while being accountable for scalability, availability, and quality.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years product management experience in a customer facing role.
  • 2+ years working with SaaS software products.
  • Experience interpreting cyber security standards, such as NIST and translating them into technical requirements and supporting-customer audits.
  • Experience with product management, working directly with engineering and design teams to plan, develop, and deliver multi-tenant SaaS products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of product management experience with at least 3 years of platform or technical experience.
  • internal candidate that has worked on the Duo R&D Team.
  • Certifications: CISSP, GSEC, Security+, AWS Certified Security
  • Technical background (computer science degree or software engineering experience)
  • Familiar with user authentication/login flows and associated technologies, identity and access management, and security
  • Systems-level understanding of communications and security technologies including TLS, SHA, and IPv6.
  • Familiar with industry compliance standards and understand the needs of IT administrators and security teams as well as internal SRE teams to meet audit requirements.
  • A track record of defining product success metrics and prioritizing feature development using them.
  • Direct experience with external technology vendors and cloud partners driving feature requests and applying their expertise to deliver Duo's platform roadmap.
  • Ability to use data to drive decision-making while managing requests from different groups, including customers, partners, internal teams, and others.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate positioning and technology to technical, sales, and executive audiences.
Reasons you should apply
  • You possess a highly driven and entrepreneurial personality, with an ability to get stuff done while having a sharp mind and eye for detail.
  • You love living on the frontier of the innovative and inspire by creating pictures and plans for the future.
  • You're comfortable initiating and managing necessary change and working effectively and efficiently through others.
  • You see potential in human diversity and build bridges between different cultures and experiences to help others work together.
  • You're motivated by being an expert in your field and excel at working across diverse collaborators, partners, customers, and team members - providing clarity through focus and direction.
