Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Director of Technical Services, will provide a full range of technical services and training to IFC operations and team members, as well as to IFC customers. This position will provide support and innovation for IFC and IFC customer programs related to pest management and sanitation. This full-time position is based out of the Lenexa, KS Corporate office.

Responsibilities:

  • Take inquiries from IFC staff and IFC customers on a full range of technical topics ranging from food safety and quality, pest identification and biology, technical applications, IPM programs, sanitation programs and other areas where operations assistance is needed.
  • Regularly contact and meet with current and potential clients for technical matters.
  • Provide sales/marketing support of IFC products and services.
  • Coordinate development of new educational and training materials and programs as needed.
  • Pursue opportunities to speak and make presentations at industry meetings, seminars, and customer events.
  • Keep informed of industry new developments, trends, regulations, and audit standards/requirements. Communicate these developments to IFC staff and customers, including in IFC technical/newsletters
  • Coordinate, maintain and evaluate relationships with product vendors.
  • Conduct product/program demonstrations, training, and product technical support.
  • Develop creative/innovative ideas and strategies for IFC services and customer programs.
  • Be familiar and engaged with IFC operations and other departments; assist in areas where needed.
  • Attend national and regional industry association tradeshows and events.
  • Support IFC position in appropriate associations.
  • Manage ongoing technical service projects for customers such as approved product lists, IPM policies and training programs.
  • Participate in R&D projects to help develop new and innovative products and services.
  • Participate as needed with the marketing team to help establish new customers and implement marketing programs, such as content development, webinars, and Podcasts.
  • Participate with other Rollins groups as needed, such as the Technical Services Team of Rollins.
  • Create a team culture in the technical services group and work with all members of the company to achieve positive results.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in pest management or a related field required; 2-5 years preferred.
  • Pursue and maintain appropriate professional certifications (certified commercial pesticide applicator, BCE, sanitation certifications, etc.).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of successful sales and marketing techniques and programs.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good troubleshooting abilities - Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Great speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed, including overnight.
  • Valid drivers license and proof of insurance and safe driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.
  • Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in entomology or a science related to pest management.

Physical Demands / Working Environment:

  • Physical demands are essentially those of 75% office work and 25% fieldwork, walking and lifting to 25 pounds.
  • Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
  • Ability to climb multiple levels of stairs and ladders.
  • Moderate exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals, weather, extreme cold, extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, noise intensity level, moving mechanical parts.
  • Possibility of working with pest management products including pesticides.
  • May require the utilization of protective equipment such as ear, eye, footwear, and breathing equipment.
