Your Impact WSP is actively seeking a biologist/environmental scientist experienced in the preparation of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Clean Water Act Section 404 and associated state permit applications. Job functions include: Project research and data gathering. Development of drawings, mapping and graphic production. Site reconnaissance, Field sampling and monitoring. Prepare and review technical reports and analyses, and permit applications. Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies. Preparation of environmental reports and supporting materials. Coordinate with project managers, task managers, project team technical leads, subconsultants, and other disciplines such as planning, siting, engineering, and PM/CM team members. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Participates in preparation of proposal and/or marketing materials. Who You Are Required Qualifications Our ideal candidate will have: 3-5 years of experience obtaining Regulatory Permits with state, federal and municipal agencies to achieve permits to meet project goals and execution schedules Experience in Nebraska, Iowa, and surrounding states preferred Experience performing wetland delineation efforts and preparing permit application materials B.S. in Biological or Ecological Sciences, M.S. preferred but not required Good communication skills and team player Experience conducting natural resources constraints analyses for energy, industrial, and transportation facilities is a plus. Experience writing or contributing to NEPA compliance documentation is a plus. Travel may be required • Must be able to pass a Fit for Duty Exam / Medical Exam. • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. • This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests.
