The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and detail-oriented Senior Finance Analyst

for Budget

on our Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Team within the Finance and Administration Division. This position will provide deep financial analyses and complex budgeting solutions for transportation capital improvement programs. In addition, this position supports complex Federal or State Grants administration and related reporting.

This is the ideal position for someone with a depth of experience in municipal or public budgeting and analysis and who is resilient, inquisitive, self-motivated, driven, and brings a workstyle geared toward success with multiple and competing priorities.

Come help keep Seattle moving Job Responsibilities Partners with stakeholders to develop and monitor complex capital program budgets. This includes planning, coordinating, and supporting the divisional budget development process. Within the assigned project portfolio, prepares the annual budget and budget revisions to reflect changes in revenue and/or program levels. Directly supports program owners and project managers to reconcile the variances between budget and expenditures. Advises capital project teams, project control teams, and other key stakeholders on budgetary and financial issues. Provides financial management and analysis for complex grants, including supporting grant administration in compliance with City and SDOT policies, initializing the grant in City and SDOT financial systems, and monitoring grant expenditures. Supports the CIP Manager through analysis and special projects ad hoc. This requires effective communication and partnership across SDOT and other City Departments. Identifies budget overruns, revenue shortfalls, and other financial issues and works with management to implement solutions. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration, finance, accounting, or related field. Experience:

Three (3) years of professional experience in budget management, financial analysis, or accounting. OR:
