Overview of the Strategic Finance and Budgeting Division

The Ladders' Strategic Finance and Budgeting division is dedicated to enabling various initiatives to realize their significant objectives. We accomplish this by providing comprehensive financial insights, thorough analysis, and precise reporting, which support financial planning and budgeting efforts. This involves assessing new opportunities and initiatives through a financial perspective, maintaining long-term financial strategies, and contributing to special projects that align with our financial goals and foster organizational growth. The Ladders is in search of a committed Senior Financial Analyst to become part of our Global Finance team, reporting to the Associate Director of Strategic Financial Planning & Budgeting. In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and refining financial planning and budgeting systems and processes, creating and tailoring financial reports, and executing various special financial projects that enhance organizational efficiency and impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Budgeting, Financial Planning, and Analysis Support: (40%)
    • Assist in the development of the annual organizational budget and quarterly review processes.
    • Consolidate and prepare the organizational budget and its presentation to leadership and board committees.
    • Streamline current budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Collaborate with the Associate Director on financial planning and strategic analysis projects for ongoing programs.
    • Contribute to long-term financial analysis and risk assessment of strategic growth opportunities.
  • Financial Reporting, Systems, and Processes Support: (40%)
    • Serve as the primary contact for the maintenance and administration of budgeting software.
    • Recommend and implement enhancements for existing financial systems and processes.
    • Support the development and maintenance of customized financial reports and dashboards.
    • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial management reports for leadership.
    • Conduct special financial projects and reports as needed.
  • Grant Financial Proposals Support: (20%)
    • Assist Program and Regional Finance Teams in developing financial proposals and budgets for donors.
    • Help create and maintain standardized internal templates for financial proposals.
    • Support grant financial reporting and develop expertise in donor requirements.
    • Engage with program finance and operations units to standardize financial processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in finance, FP&A, or a similar field.
  • Proficient in accounting, budgeting, and reporting software.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analytics and strategic budget management, with the ability to interpret complex financial data into actionable reports.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for the mission and approach of The Ladders.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
