Position Title: Senior Budget Analyst

Position Summary: Sprezzatura is seeking a seasoned Budget Analyst to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Program Project Management Support Services (PPMSS) by providing financial analysis, budget preparation, and fiscal reporting. This role is critical for ensuring fiscal discipline and transparency in budget management aligned with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to develop, analyze, and review budget proposals.
  2. Prepare detailed budget reports and forecasts for internal and external use, ensuring they comply with federal and organizational guidelines.
  3. Monitor spending to ensure it stays within budget and report any variances to the senior management team promptly.
  4. Assist in the financial monitoring and support of contracts, including tracking obligations, expenditures, and forecasting future budget needs.
  5. Provide analytical support for budget exercises and reviews, including "what-if" scenarios to assist management in decision-making.
  6. Support the development and submission of Congressional Budget Justifications.
  7. Utilize financial databases and systems to produce customized reports.
  8. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational guidelines in the management of funds.
  9. Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in budget analysis or a related field, preferably within a government or government contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal financial regulations and procedures; familiarity with VA financial policies is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Location: This is a hybrid position. Majority of time will be remote with the ability to provide onsite support in Washington, DC, as requested by the customer.
