The estimating tasks will involve hard bid estimates for concrete and asphalt paving, road widening, drainage lines, road reconstruction, bridge work, and dirt work. This is a unique opportunity to work on projects ranging from $5 million to $30 million in the vibrant cities of San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston. Position Description

Some of the essential duties and responsibilities include: Reviewing proposal specifications and drawings and attending pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate Proficiently preparing estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, and equipment costs and applying them to the complete scope of work Reviewing/researching historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compiling summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates Incorporating historical data into unit and man-hour figures Actively participating in developing bid package estimate documents Proficiently maintaining files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc. Creating, sending, and managing subcontractor requests for proposal Reviewing design options and recommending the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials Following awarded contracts as assigned - may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring materials, etc. Performing other duties as directed Position Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have: A Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college, technical school or university in Engineering or Construction Management A minimum of 4 years of heavy civil, heavy highway estimating experience involving concrete and asphalt paving, road widening, drainage lines, road reconstruction, bridge work, and roadway dirt work. A minimum of 4 years of hard bid estimating A minimum of 4 years of estimator and/or a combination of project engineer and estimating experience working on or estimating heavy civil concrete structures, roadway, bridge and dirt excavation, heavy civil projects of $5 million to $30 million. A minimum of 4 years of experience in calculating area, volume, quantities, etc. in performing take-offs, control, and material pricing. A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating & scheduling software (Primavera, Viewpoint, Heavy Bid, Heavy Job, etc.), Internet and Project Management software; Spreadsheet and Word Processing software. The ability to pass criminal and driving background checks A valid Driver License Benefits
