Position Overview

Responsibilities

The duties of the Law Enforcement Officer include:

  • Safeguarding the integrity of the legislative environment.
  • Conducting thorough assessments and evaluations of candidates during the hiring process.
  • Administering pre-employment screenings, including psychological, medical, and polygraph examinations.
  • Overseeing the Physical Readiness Test (PRT) to ensure candidates meet the physical demands of the role.
  • Executing comprehensive background investigations to verify candidates' histories and qualifications.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and not older than 39 at the time of appointment.
  • High School diploma or GED certificate is required.
  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal history check and credit check.
