Position Overview
We are hiring a Lead Accountant to support our SharedService Center (SSC). This role will operate out of our Chicago, IL office andreport to Manager SSC at our Global Headquarters in the Netherlands with adotted line reporting to the Senior Director of Finance in the U.S.
The Lead Accountant will have direct reports on theAccounting and Accounts Payable/Receivable team. The person in this role willbalance Accountant responsibilities as well as manage as the SSC processes. Weare looking for an Accounting Lead who is analytical, reliable, deadline-orientedand able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals (Financial Accountants and Accounts Payable/Receivable employees), providing guidance, support, and feedback.
  • Manage several NewCold Holding entities located across the U.S. for the day-to-day accounting under tight deadlines and in line with the policies and guidelines for the SSC of NewCold.
  • Process incoming invoices and other accounts payable activities and tasks.
  • Makes journal entries using standard accounting practices.
  • Accomplish our finance team's and organization's mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Assist the accounting processes and procedures to ensure it is accurate, complete and timely.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any audit findings.
  • Stay up to date with accounting and finance standards, best practices, and government regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Partner with our global Finance team and stakeholders in North America and the Netherlands.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of accounting professionals.
  • Must be willing to complete accounting and AP related tasks and activities.
  • Used to work in a dynamic, international and growing organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, methods and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Deadline-oriented and an ability to stick to time constraints.
  • Experience working in a lean or start-up environment, preferred.
Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
