Role Summary: We are seeking a skilled and driven professional to join our Accounting division. This pivotal role is ideal for an accomplished individual eager to spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of our Accounting and Finance operations. You will play a crucial role in the transformation of processes through automation and optimization, gaining extensive exposure to GAAP, statutory, and SEC accounting within a diverse insurance framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team in gathering and interpreting data from various sources for the preparation of GAAP financial statements and statutory reports.
  • Supervise the preparation and review of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Act as a primary resource for internal and external financial reporting, including SEC filings.
  • Lead automation initiatives by understanding data sources and user requirements, guiding the design and implementation of solutions.
  • Support the evaluation of complex accounting matters and the adoption of new standards.
  • Contribute to the SOX program, collaborating with auditors and business leaders.
  • Manage accounting processes related to premium and cash collections in the life and health segments.
  • Engage in special projects, providing leadership and significant contributions.
  • Participate in the recruitment and development of high-performing accounting teams.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting or auditing experience, with knowledge of GAAP and statutory frameworks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial software such as Workday, Workiva, and Blackline is advantageous.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on process improvement.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to navigate and resolve accounting and operational challenges.
  • Curious and adaptable, with a readiness for change.

This position offers flexibility to work remotely, allowing for a balance between professional and personal commitments.

The compensation range for this role is competitive, taking into account experience, skills, and qualifications. The position is eligible for an annual bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
