CTR Group is seeking a CORPORATE TAX ACCOUNTANT for a global manufacturer in the Newport News, VA area. Immediate opening and urgently hiring

This is a HYBRID POSITION position, working onsite in the Newport News with the option of 2 days remote after 90 days in office.

Salary Range: $57K - $63K Plus comprehensive benefits package that includes major medical, dental and vision insurance, 401K plan with company match, paid vacation and personal days.

SUMMARY:

The Corporate Tax and Treasury Accountant is responsible for assisting with income tax compliance, sales and use tax compliance and treasury related functions for U.S. operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists with the daily cash management and reporting of daily cash position of all U.S. accounts.
  • Assists with daily cash activities such as reporting of incoming cash receipts, clearing of accounts payable checks, and maintaining supplier ACH database.
  • Analyze bank activity and bank fees.
  • Assists with the preparation of cash flow forecasting models monthly FIN and LTL 3 times per year.
  • Assists with the maintenance of cash, derivative, debt, and interest schedules.
  • Assists with Sales and Use Tax Preparation and filing of multiple state, county, and local sales & use tax returns.
Corporate Tax Responsibilities:

•Reviews, investigates, and analyzes financial information for tax compliance.

•Preparation and remittal of estimated taxes.

•Preparation, collection, consolidation, and review of income tax return work papers, including state apportionment factors information.

•Preparation of various government reports including Census Bureau reporting.

•Preparation, review and/or filing of unclaimed property returns for all U.S. business units.

•Interface with accounting departments of all U.S. business units to obtain required information.

•Review of all federal and state income and franchise tax returns, annual reports and other compliance filings.

•Assist Federal and State tax audits.

•Assist in tax research and planning.

•Understand tax regulations and monitor changes (federal and state)

•Prepare deferred tax calculations for all U.S. business units.

•Prepare and file foreign VAT returns and reconcile general ledger with supporting supplier invoices.

•Analyze and reconcile income tax related accounts in the general ledger.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from executives, managers, suppliers, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, margins, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as financial manuals, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license.
