Internship Overview: Are you pursuing a degree in accounting and eager to deepen your understanding of public accounting? Brown Edwards offers a unique opportunity for students to collaborate with accomplished accounting professionals, gaining hands-on experience essential for your career development. During the peak tax season, our Tax Season Interns play a vital role in managing the increased workload for our clients.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Digitally archive tax documents using AutoFlow
  • Examine and confirm the accuracy of scanned documents
  • Assist in the preparation of basic tax returns
  • Transfer data from client files into our workpaper systems
  • Gain proficiency in accounting and tax software
  • Understand internal CPA methodologies
  • Foster teamwork within a professional setting
Qualifications for Interns:
  • Must be an accounting major aspiring to pursue a career in public accounting
  • Students in their sophomore, junior, or senior years are encouraged to apply
  • Completion of at least one Intermediate accounting course
  • Experience in a taxation course is advantageous
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Availability to commit 15-20 hours per week
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and apply critical thinking
  • Aspiration to achieve CPA certification and a desire to learn more about public accounting
  • Exhibit initiative, a strong career focus, advanced Excel/IT skills, and professionalism
