Title: Executive Assistant Reports to: Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Summary: AFSMC is a national organization with a limited physical footprint. There are four AFSMC professional staff positions in Los Angeles, one in Houston, one in Chicago, two in NY, and one in south Florida. While the organization mostly runs virtually, the corporate address and primary physical location is in Los Angeles so we are looking for someone in the LA area. This is also where most of the mail is received, physical items are stored, and much of the non-digital work of the organization takes place. The role of Executive Assistant will be to support the executive staff around the country as well as take on the administrative tasks in Los Angeles. This means most interaction will be virtual. While the office itself is quiet, the work of AFSMC is fast-paced, dynamic, and interactive. Primary Responsibilities include : Supporting the work of the executive staff in everything from physical documents, travel planning, event planning, expense reporting, logistics, etc. Managing projects, such as speaker travel tours, donor gift fulfillment, etc. Additional Raiser’s Edge work including running or obtaining queries and reports. Going into the Los Angeles office 2-3 times per week to open mail, scan and route via email to the appropriate staffer. Opening and handling checks including: entering information into Raiser’s Edge, doing bank deposits, providing related financial information to the Director of Finance and Administration. Attend and assist with local meetings and events as needed. Other duties and special projects may be assigned as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree required, with preference given to professionals with advanced education in philanthropy or related areas. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on a professional team. Good attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to work independently when needed. Effective interpersonal skills. Microsoft Office required, experience with Raiser’s Edge and Constant Contact a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Israel and the Jewish community.
