We’re looking for innovative, people-first team members who understand that culture is critical in our effort to positively impact the world’s transition to a carbon-free transportation future. We are looking for a Business Development Director to increase Voltera’s presence within the last/final mile delivery space. This person will be responsible for identifying a go-to-market plan for Voltera to service that market, and then lead efforts that leverage Voltera's expertise in developing EV charging depots and/or onsite Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS) solutions to execute relationships with target customers. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Develop an understanding of the emerging requirements of specific last mile delivery service providers and how they plan to deploy electrification across their network. Build a business case for Voltera to take specific actions to service that market. Provide input to Voltera's real estate and development, product, and finance teams on specific product, pricing and site characteristics that would be a good fit for the market. Work with internal and external stakeholders to gain customer business, finalize specific agreements that would govern customer usage at specific sites, and ensure all relevant utility or state agency grants/incentives are being leveraged. Help ensure long-term customer success by working with VolteraOperations and Customer teams to ensure they understand specific customer and agreement requirements. Manage customer account over the long-term. Travel as needed for customer engagement. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. MUST-HAVE: 7+ years’ experience in project origination, business development, sales or related Strong network of contacts within the last mile delivery space In-depth understanding of last mile fleet operations from the large courier perspective (FedEx, Amazon, UPS) and that of their ISP contractors Strong knowledge of and experience in making large capital projects successful A strong, demonstrated interest in sustainability Demonstrated track record in project origination, sales, or business development Experience and commercial success working with capital projects Strong communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables Superb ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities Superb ability to meet committed timelines, leveraging assistance/input from peers Strong and effective team player in working with various disciplines and peer groups; can cover all gamut of tasks required to “getting a job done” Strong attention to detail NICE-TO-HAVE: Experience working in the following industries: electric vehicles, solar, wind, storage, utility, construction, or real estate LOCATION: Remote, USA (CA, WA, CO, VA, or Washington, D.C. highly preferred) Compensation ($140,000 to $170,000): Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Our total compensation package includes the base salary and competitive benefits.
