The Manager, Business Continuity oversees the organizations business continuity and preparedness program designed to protect staff, property, and preserve business operations after a disaster or another disruptive event. Develops a cohesive framework for identifying, mitigating, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from events that threaten the health and safety of personnel and/or that threaten operations.
Job role
Oversees the establishment of the business continuity and preparedness program roadmap, goals, objectives, and strategies to mature the program in alignment with industry best practices. Tracks status against goals and objectives and presents to leadership.
Manages the use and implementation strategy for the organizations business continuity software, emergency notification system, and mobile safety application.
Leads business impact analyses efforts to identify critical business processes, oversees the development of business continuity plans, and maintains scorecards to ensure respective plans and recovery strategies are in a state of readiness.
Partners with internal IT groups on technology disaster recovery initiatives as they relate to the business continuity program.
Manages the organizations incident and crisis management programs and guides the organization in response to incidents and crises.
Manages a test, training, and exercise program to ensure business continuity and preparedness plans, response teams, and supporting technologies to validate their readiness and to continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
Manages meetings, workshops, and other awareness and education opportunities with continuity coordinators, business continuity plan owners, and general staff to drive program requirements and enhance the resilience of the organization.
Leads a team of business resilience staff through effective people management that helps enhance retention, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
