Job Overview: The HRIS Manager is a pivotal role within our client, who is a private university based in New Orleans, Louisiana, serving as the product owner and expert for all human resources systems. This position is critical for overseeing HRIS operations, guiding the selection, development, implementation, and management of HR technology solutions and integrations, ensuring they align with the university's strategic goals and HR requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the HRIS team in the selection, building, testing, implementation, and administration of HR technology solutions and integrations.
  • Act as the subject-matter-expert for HR systems, ensuring optimal performance and utilization.
  • Oversee the documentation and maintenance of HRIS procedures, processes, software documentation, and test scripts.
  • Translate business requirements into system configurations, enhancing HR functions like payroll, benefits, recruiting, and overall HR management.
  • Provide technical support and training to HR staff and end-users, ensuring clear communication of complex concepts.
  • Manage HRIS projects from inception to completion, including full life cycle software implementations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HRIS practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements include:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree with a preference for a focus in a related field/discipline or High School Diploma/equivalent with significant HR systems administration experience.
  • Experience: At least three years in HR systems administration, with additional experience in Human Resources and IT implementation preferred. Supervisory experience is also required.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access.
  • Certifications: Project Management certification is desirable.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of software development/support methodologies, relational databases, and HR functions.
  • Key Competencies: Leadership in a team-oriented environment, excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences, and strong project management abilities.
