Key Responsibilities:
System Architecture and Design:
Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable systems architecture to support high-availability applications.
Implement best practices for cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises environments.
Automation and Continuous Improvement:
Develop and deploy automation tools and frameworks to streamline operations and deployment processes.
Continuously monitor system performance and implement enhancements to optimize reliability and efficiency.
Incident Response and Monitoring:
Monitor system health, performance metrics, and alerts to proactively identify issues and troubleshoot incidents.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to production incidents to minimize downtime and impact.
Capacity Planning and Scalability:
Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis to ensure systems can handle current and future growth.
Implement scaling strategies and infrastructure upgrades as needed to maintain optimal performance under varying loads.
Security and Compliance:
Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices for data protection, system security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct periodic security audits and implement remediation measures as necessary.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Share knowledge and mentor team members on best practices, tools, and techniques related to site reliability engineering.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong background in system administration, software engineering, or DevOps.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Solid understanding of networking protocols, infrastructure components, and distributed systems architecture.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) for performance analysis and troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
