Job Summary and Qualifications

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing operational assistance and financial and statistical analysis to Coding operational leaders. The FA Analyst for Coding creates and delivers variance analysis reports, builds reports to capture key operational and financial statistics such as productivity, quality, volume, or vendor resource utilization. Also assists Coding leaders in managing and preparing deliverables to aid in communicating information effectively and to optimize departmental efficiency and performance as well as improving customer satisfaction.

Duties (included but not limited to)

  • Proactively creates and provides data analysis assessments to support the CCU
  • Coordinates, develops, tests and delivers scheduled and ad hoc data and analysis requests
  • Assists in the development of financial and operational data collection and measurement tools within the CCU
  • Identifies Coding and strategic resource educational opportunities
  • Performs audits of vendor invoices to ensure accurate charges are reflected
  • Compiles statistics to support operations including productivity and accuracy monitoring
  • Maintains and updates physician COID job aides/materials as needed Prepares monthly MORs
  • Maintain working knowledge of workflow, systems, and tools used in the CCU departments
  • Collaborates with IT resources in the PSC to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting of information to support CCU activities
  • Creates and supports exception-based report generation for all departments
  • Understands CCU operations and technologies in place
  • Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Financial Analysis Skills- knowledge of research techniques sufficient to collect and interpret data. Skills in understanding, collecting, analyzing and presenting data. Skill in examining qualitative and quantitative data for correctness in accuracy. Ability to apply business intelligence strategies to convert business cases into solutions.
  • Communication - communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, utilizing proper punctuation and correct spelling and ability to transcribe accurately. The ability to communicate with staff, management, and other departments and customers.
  • Customer orientation - establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations
  • Interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with other employees, patients, and external parties
  • PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including advanced EXCEL, Sequel queries, SharePoint management, PowerPoint, Word, Business Objects, Power BI and others as required
  • Organization- proactively prioritizes needs and effectively manages resources
  • Project Management- assesses work activities and allocates resources appropriately
  • Policies & Procedures - demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and systems

Education

  • Bachelors degree with focus in Finance, Information Technology, Healthcare or another related field preferred Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree

Experience

  • Minimum one-year related healthcare or revenue cycle experience required Advanced Excel, Basic SharePoint Build and Basic SQL and Business Objects query writing experience preferred
