Job Details:

As a contributing team member, the Sales Account Manager will report directly to the Sales Team Lead. The position will have regular interactions with the Sales Team Lead and other regional sales managers while focusing on cultivating relationships with assigned Tyson Foodservice accounts within the Houston area. This person will be accountable for:
  • Building relationships
  • Selling new items
  • Negotiating contracts
  • Prioritizing efforts against plan
This position is expected to work cross-functionally with various business units and trade teams to build new business, protect core business, create a competitive advantage, and attain mix and volume targets within our value-added product tiers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and nurture professional relationships with assigned Tyson Foodservice accounts within the Houston area and cultivate accounts within the marke to achieve business objectives.
  • Gather and maintain key insights for all assigned accounts, including the size of the business, product opportunities, competitive set, timing, and potential hurdles.
  • Track progress using the tools provided, reporting status so all applicable parties are aware.
  • Manage all strategic initiatives.
  • Work with Business Development, Distribution team, Business Units, Revenue Management teams, and broker counterparts as needed to deliver against sales plans by managing customer presentations, marketing programs, expense management, and complaint and deduction resolution.
  • Provide sales support at customer events, including but not limited to product sampling and presenting key features and benefits.
  • Deliver against your volume goals and execute price strategies within the marketplace.
  • Manage spend associated with the volume and manage the mix of products sold.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience in Foodservice, Foodservice Manufacturing, or Distributor Sales.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Strategic thinking, negotiation skills, understanding of motivational leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Travel: 30% - 50%.
