ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for portfolio construction, rebalancing and investment strategy analysis. Our portfolio managers work with leading-edge portfolio risk and optimization technologies. The position requires solid verbal and written communication aptitude and the ability to work directly with clients on equity exposure and risk-modeling problems. Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment, take initiative, and be comfortable taking on responsibility.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Portfolio Management

  • Support daily portfolio management function of managing client assets under guidance of senior portfolio managers from trade generation to trade execution
  • Collaborate with operations and compliance to monitor portfolio cash flow, client activities, and portfolios' compliance with investment guidelines and objectives
  • Extract and interpret data from portfolio accounting system (ABOR)
  • Use quantitative risk models and optimization techniques to assist in the management of equity portfolios
  • Assist in implementing electronic security trades and liaise with brokers and custodians
Custom Solutions
  • Work with the senior members of the team to understand clients' investment objectives, risk tolerance and constraints
  • Help in the design and development of custom investment solutions tailored to meet clients' specific needs and objectives
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to construct and implement custom investment solutions
Investment Support
  • Provide analytical support for client consulting projects
  • Develop and implement process improvements
  • Provide support to maintain and service relationships with prospects, clients and consultants
  • Work closely with various technology teams to test, build, and improve internal and external investment tools
  • Contribute to team/firm profitability by assisting in asset gathering efforts and expansion of existing client relationships.
  • Provide superior clients services to internal and external clients and partners
Quantitative Research
  • Conduct quantitative research to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of investment strategies
  • Perform back-testing, regression analysis, and scenario analysis of investment strategies to assess their historical risk and return characteristics and potential future outcomes
  • Utilize statistical techniques and modelling tools to analyze market data and identify patterns, trends and opportunities
  • Rigorously formulate and test fundamental hypotheses against empirical data.
  • Review, evaluate, and modify current academic and industry research for use in our analysis and investment models

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Minimum Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required
Minimum Specific Experience Required:
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience required
WHO YOU ARE
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and computer competencies, with an emphasis on quantitative analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills to support data analysis
  • Acute attention to detail and proofing
  • Demonstrated initiative, a broad perspective, creativity, and good quantitative intuition

  • Ability to work effectively with portfolio operations, including custodial relationships, portfolio accounting, performance, and reconciliation
  • Familiarity with multi-factor fundamental risk models (e.g., Axioma, Barra, Northfield)
  • Prior work experience in a high-net-worth environment
  • Background in client-facing functions
  • Experience with SQL and VBA
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
