**Position Title: EFA Front Desk CSS**

**Status: Full Time / Non-Exempt**

**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:**

* HS Diploma or GED

* Minimum of 1 year of experience in: public contact / customer service

* Drivers License preferred

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:**

* Detail oriented and attention to detail

* Self starter

* Team player

* Strong use of the English language in verbal and written communication

* (Spelling - 90% Grammar 85%)

* Excellent telephone & interpersonal skills

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure

* Customer service mindset

* Strong analytical and research skills

* Proficient typing skills (60 words per minute)

* General knowledge of emergency community resources

* Ability and willingness to keep information confidential

**SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:**

* Microsoft Word and Excel required

* Lotus Notes, helpful

* Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.

**SCOPE OF POSITION:**

Under limited direct supervision, the Front Desk - Community Service Specialist is responsible for meeting community needs through direct services, provision of information and referral to appropriate community partners, direct assistance through Salvation Army programs, counseling and limited case management commensurate with training and compassionate community presence.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* An ability to engage with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally responsive manner

* Maintain statistical records, reports, logs, files and other required documentation.

* Working knowledge of de-escalation techniques in conjunction with trauma-informed care practices.

* Demonstrates a commitment to the values of equity and inclusion by honoring diverse characteristics and expressions of personal identity.

* Answer incoming phone calls and determine the most appropriate resolution

* Complete all departmental filing

* Maintain Department Logs

* Create physical files as needed

* Maintain and update contact information

* Generate reports as needed

* Maintain supply inventory and coordinate order of replacement supplies with PM as necessary

* Prepare general correspondence as requested

* Provide administrative support to department head

* Perform other administrative functions as requested

* Assist with volunteer coordination, training, and retention.

* Conduct client screening for Salvation Army emergency assistances

* Participate in weekly staff meetings

* Perform all other duties as assigned

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

* Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis

* Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead

* Ability to operate telephone

* Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer

* Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

* Ability to access and produce information from a computer

* Ability to understand written information
