Based in Kuala Lumpur, to lead the Business Development team and work with Managing Director to drive and execute the growth strategy for RGA in Southeast Asia emerging markets, mainly Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam Responsibilities

Lead the Business Development function to achieve RGA’s financial targets, working closely with Product Development, Pricing, Underwriting, Client Digital Solutions, Global Financial Solutions and Regional Solutions Team Be the key contact point with clients in reinsurance quotations and projects, take the lead in product idea pitching, client meetings, price negotiations and preparation of proposals; this will include in-force management actions Build and manage a strong Business Development team for both Life and Health to achieve the following: Engagement – A fully engaged team, generating ideas and share with team on a regular basis Business development – Able to create opportunities, pursue and execute them Client engagement at all levels – Able to get information to help RGA win quotes Quote management and client requests – Well managed with prioritization and delivery within internal and client expectations Internal alignment – To orchestrate and add value resulting in creating timely, viable and profitable solutions to clients Risk management – Able to articulate the risk, provide suggestion to mitigate, manage and monitor the risk Establish strong working relationship with clients of RGA at C-suite level Negotiate on behalf of RGA and to manage multiple projects and reinsurance quotations; Together with the Managing Director formulate and execute business strategy for RGA in the Southeast Asia markets Represent RGA in industry events and speak at client events or seminars Support Managing Director on other business matters and tasks as and when required Requirements

Bachelor’s degree holder with FSA qualification or equivalent 12+ years’ experience in a life insurance, insurance consulting or reinsurance company with demonstrable in-depth knowledge of Southeast Asian life insurance markets and product lines Reinsurance client management experience will be a strong advantage Client services focused, highly driven and results oriented, with exceptional ability tomanage relationships as well as conflicts Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view; proficiency in another Southeast Asian language is strongly preferred Strong critical and innovative thinking, with the ability to develop business insights, resolve complex problems and deliver solutions as well as recommendations Highly motivated, results oriented and solutions focused Excellent project management skills and ability to partner with internal & external stakeholders in a collaborative manner Ability to travel 25% to 50% on a monthly regular basis Company Overview
