Job Overview

The Human Resources Coordinator is an integral part of the HR team and assists with day-to-day HR tasks, including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, assisting with benefits and workers compensation, personnel-related documentation processes, and data management. The HR Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact delivering exceptional HR support to employees, managers, and external stakeholders. Success in this position requires strong customer service skills, a solid understanding of HR policies and procedures, and the ability to effectively communicate information to diverse audiences promptly and accurately with a high level of professionalism.

Primary Responsibilities

+ Process, verify and maintain personnel-related documentation, related to staffing, recruiting, training, grievances, performance evaluations, job classifications and employee leaves of absence.

+ Request information from previous employers, and other references to determine applicants' employment acceptability.

+ Process background checks.

+ Process and review employment applications to evaluate the qualifications or eligibility of applicants.

+ Explain company personnel policies, benefits and procedures to employees or job applicants.

+ Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, number of sales or production, supervisory reports on performance and dates of and reasons for terminations.

+ Provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs and workers compensation plans.

+ Screen job applicants to obtain and verify information used to screen and evaluate them.

+ Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.

+ Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

+ Bachelors degree in human resources or related field.

+ Entry level or higher years of experience in HR.

+ Experience using HRIS and MS Office.

+ Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate for this role has:

+ 1-2 years experience in HR.

+ Previous experience in recruiting processes.

+ Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and basic employment law.

Work Environment

Traditional indoor office environment. Some office workers may travel to construction sites periodically.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described below are representative of but not limited to the physical exertion generally required to perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time while using a keyboard. They are frequently required to stand and walk. They are occasionally required to lift, carry, push, pull and reach overhead materials up to 20 pounds along with frequent gross manipulation using their hands. The visual requirements include demonstrating or having vision corrected to 20/20. In general, this position includes sedentary work that primarily involves sitting and/or standing as well as repeating motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
