Summary: The Tax Manager will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for the preparation of various tax returns and related payments for a rapidly growing logistics company. Priority-1 specializes in consulting and managing domestic and international less than truckload and truckload operations for small to large shippers across North America. Job Responsibilities: Act as liaison with external accountants on annual income tax returns including international, federal and state returns. Prepare other required monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings/estimates. Tax filings could include annual reports with Secretary of State offices, sales tax, property tax, and gross receipts tax. Ensure compliance with state, federal, or international tax regulations and filing deadlines. Ensure compliance with commuter benefit plan. Ensure appropriate state and local business licenses/registrations are obtained for new locations and ensure company remains compliant with required reporting for all locations. Act as liaison with 3rd party payroll processor on any payroll tax notices/issues and ensure a resolution is reached. Prepare annual 1099 filings. Other projects and tasks as assigned. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required, CPA preferred. 5 or more years of tax accounting experience preferred. Working knowledge of GAAP. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Analytical with a high attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite a plus.
