We're recruiting for a Freelance Neurologic Music Therapist in Stoke-on-Trent for a 2-3 day per week freelance position. At Chiltern Music Therapy we do things differently. We are an award-winning not-for-profit organisation, providing music therapy across health, education, social care and community settings in England. Our services cover the complete lifecycle, supporting premature infants through to people receiving end of life care. We believe that music therapy can be the transformative thread in everyday life. Chiltern is employee-owned and operates under a self-managing model. We recognise the different strengths within our team and provide an environment where people can take charge of the work they do, using professional judgement and life experience, alongside peer support, in order to make informed and integrated decisions. Salary and Hours Role and conditions Delivering individual and group Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) sessions for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries, within a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care setting Managing and prioritising referrals Working jointly with Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team Working flexibly with the service to meet their needs Benefits to staff A range of mandatory trainings (e.g. GDPR, Health and Safety) CPD opportunities Online community and peer support through our Slack platform and channels Team socials Outcomes Star training and licence Access to our NEST programme - Newly/recently qualified Music Therapist Development Programme In-house clinical and peer support Optional in-house supervision Online community through our Slack platform and channels What Chiltern Music Therapy is looking for HCPC registration and e nhanced DBS check Additional training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) Confident and self-motivated individual A high level of vocal skills and keyboard and/or guitar skills, and confidence in using percussion instruments Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills A full driving licence with access to a vehicle or use of public transport is required Previous experience working within neurorehabilitation as an NMT Certified Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow Certified training in MATADOC (Music Therapy Assessment Tool for Awareness in Disorders of Consciousness)* *handover period will be adapted accordingly in lieu of the above Next steps To apply, please email your CV and an expression of interest letter which should include your reasons for wanting to work with Chiltern Music Therapy to: recruitment@chilternmusictherapy.co.uk.
