Position: Music Therapist (Lincoln Center Moments)

Role Overview: Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is in search of two experienced Music Therapists who specialize in conducting workshops for individuals with dementia and their caregivers. These professionals will be responsible for developing and leading programs as part of Lincoln Center Moments, a performance-driven initiative. The ideal candidates will collaborate with teaching artists, access educators, and performers to create and implement engaging and accessible performance-based activities. This role offers a unique opportunity for music therapists aiming to enhance their expertise in leading programs for individuals with dementia and their caregivers, particularly within the creative aging sector.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and facilitating programs for individuals with dementia and their caregivers.
  • In-depth knowledge of dementia and related disabilities, along with effective communication and facilitation techniques tailored to their needs.
  • Advanced Degree in Music Therapy.
  • Training in creative aging and universal design methodologies.
  • Ability to engage participants effectively in group settings.
  • Proficient in articulating lesson plan concepts through written documentation.
  • Interest in collaborative planning and facilitation.
  • Experience with virtual facilitation is preferred.
  • Background in arts-based community environments is strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is highly valued.
Scope of Work:
  • Trainings and Orientations: Orientation with Lincoln Center Moments planning team (2 hours).
  • Season kick-off meetings in the fall and spring (1 hour each).
  • Season debrief meetings in the fall and spring (90 minutes each).
  • Group professional development meetings (2 hours in the fall, 6 hours at the beginning of the spring, 2 hours at the end of the spring).
  • Facilitation:
    • Prepare for and attend planning meetings (90-minute meeting per program for a maximum of 8 programs).
    • Participate in a pre-program check-in meeting one week prior to each event (60-minute meeting per program for a maximum of 8 programs).
    • Prepare for and co-lead a one-hour workshop (1-hour preparation, 1 hour to observe performance, 1-hour workshop facilitation, 30-minute debrief for a maximum of 8 programs).
Compensation:
  • $70 per two-hour meeting or training.
  • $555 per program, inclusive of planning time and check-in meetings.
