Our NY agency client is in search of an award-winning freelance Social Media Creative Leader who lives and breathes social media. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of transforming major brands' social media presence with creative and compelling content across various platforms. This person is deeply knowledgeable about the latest creative techniques, formats, and social media trends, and is always eager to learn more. Whether it's breaking down the latest celebrity drama or explaining the origins of a viral meme, you are the go-to expert. You may even be a content creator yourself. This is a contract role and will go through September. The position will operate on a hybrid work schedule with flexibility for in-office and remote work. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead the social media creative strategy for a Fortune 500 company. You will have the chance to shape the brand's social media presence, work with top influencers and creators, and create award-winning content that resonates with a global audience. Responsibilities:


  • Lead and inspire a team of creatives, including art directors, copywriters, editors, and content creators, to produce standout social media content.
  • Develop and execute innovative social media strategies that align with the brand's goals and resonate with the target audience.
  • Collaborate closely with influencers and creators to amplify the brand's message and reach.
  • Present and defend creative ideas to senior executives, including CMOs, with confidence and clarity.
  • Stay ahead of social media trends and continuously educate the team on new techniques and formats.
  • Foster a collaborative and nurturing environment for social creative talent, encouraging growth and creativity.
  • Manage the production of high-quality content that meets the brand's standards and exceeds audience expectations.
  • Collaborate with creative teams and stakeholders to brainstorm and develop content ideas.
  • Engage with influencers and creators to coordinate campaigns and content production.
  • Monitor social media trends and incorporate them into the brand's social strategy.
  • Present creative concepts and strategies to senior executives for approval and feedback.



Required Qualifications:


  • 8+ years of experience in social media marketing or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing and leading creative teams with diverse expertise.
  • Extensive experience working with influencers and content creators.
  • Strong understanding of what makes for standout social media content and the ability to articulate this to senior executives.
  • Collaborative mindset and a passion for nurturing and developing creative talent.
  • A social-centric portfolio that includes award-winning work and demonstrates your expertise and creative vision.
  • A genuine passion for Gen Z interests, including music, gaming, and sports.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and apply them strategically.
  • Creative thinker with a strong eye for detail and a knack for storytelling.
  • Experience with social media analytics and the ability to use data to inform creative decisions.
