Summary Description:
The HR Coordinator is responsible for managing therecruiting and day-to-day human resources operations in the facility. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting HR policies and procedures and assuringcompliance with those policies. The Coordinator of HR is involved in onboarding and orientation, benefits, leave requests,workers compensation, employee relations, performance management / progressivediscipline process and retention efforts. Responsible for performing facilityHuman Resources functions in accordance with policies and procedures andapplicable federal, state and local laws, guidelines and regulations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Assistsin implementing Human Resources activities within the facility.
2. Promotesthe implementation of facility-sponsored retention programs; assists department heads inthe development and implementation of programs designed to improve staffengagement and retention.
3. Plansand participates in employee appreciation and engagement activities, a minimumof four (4) events or programs per month.
4. Participatesin retention bonus program where applicable.
5. Managesthe facility recruiting process and procedures.
6. Ensuresthat new candidates are responded to within 24 hours.
7. Ensurestime between application and orientation is as short as possible.
8. Conduct exitinterviews to determine areas the facility can improve employee experience.
9. Coordinatesand conducts new employeeorientation to review policies and procedures, employee handbook,employee benefits and other related requirements as relevant to the positionand job functions.
10. Input new hires into thepayroll system and be the point of contact through the transition.
11. Developsand maintains a good working rapport with other departments within thefacility, to assure that Human Resources activities meet the needs of thefacility.
12. Assistsin preparing and submittingwork injury claims for employees. Follows through with employee andthird-party administrator until employee is released to full duty. Maintainsworkers compensation protocols and procedures, coordinates reports of injury tocarrier, files and reports as directed.
13. Communicatesand assists employees in enrolling in the benefits program offerings.
14. Workswith employees to complete required forms and documentation for FMLA and leavesof absence. Responsible for ensuring that employees receive all requirednotices and information relating to FMLA and other leaves of absence.
15. Acts asliaison between management and employees of the facility. Supports thefacilities efforts and advises management of any issues/concerns or employeerelations issues. Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive andemotional situations.
16. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth,personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environmentthroughout the facility.
17. Attends and participates and leads (asappropriate) in-service and education programs as directed.
18. Manages the LMS system.
19. Participates in the overall quality assessmentand improvement program (QAPI) activities for the facility.
20. Maintainsconfidentiality of all employee and employment-related information to ensureindividual rights are protected.
21. Managepayroll process.
22. New hireorientation, paperwork, background checks, and license verification
23. Thestate mandated license reverification yearly.
24. Manageemployee complaints and reports and conduct investigations as needed.
25. Manageemployee benefit enrollment during Open Enrollment and for New Hires.Additionally, be the liaison for any issues that arise for the employee.
26. Answer unemployment claims timely.
27. Consult at sister facilities as required.
