Job Summary

Malace HR is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance and a strong background in building automation systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. This includes responding to hot and cold calls, utilizing Building Automation Controls (BACs), and performing general maintenance of equipment as necessary.

The HVAC Technician will also be responsible for performing minor plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and general tasks assigned for a large industrial and business aerospace campus. This may include snow removal duties, which may include shoveling, salting, or plowing of assigned areas.

The qualified applicant must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver's license, and have at least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in facilities/HVAC maintenance and dealing with a wide range of general type services. Excellent customer service and communication skills are also required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates effectively with Site Leader and Facility Manager to determine service needs.
  • Coordinates and supervises client sub-contractors while performing service on site.
  • HVAC maintenance and repair skills, including PM, troubleshooting, and repair of all HVAC equipment.
  • Building automation monitoring and adjustments.
  • Responds to Hot & Cold area temperature complaints and makes adjustments and repairs.
  • Performs a wide variety of corrective maintenance work requests along with various general maintenance type tasks and special projects.
  • Assists the team in maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting the HVAC heating, ventilating, air conditioning, heat exchangers, chillers, air handling units.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma
  • 3 - 5 years of experience related to HVAC facility maintenance.
  • Valid US driver's license; must be able to operate a company vehicle.
  • EPA approved CFC certification is required, Journeyman license a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
  • Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing basic computer skills and ability to communicate via email and internet use.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of chiller operations (centrifugal) and various HVAC equipment.
  • Must have BAS (Building Automation System) experience and working knowledge of energy management systems.
  • Knowledge of chilled water systems, heating systems, boilers, fan coil units, pumps, and ability to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC controls and operating systems as scheduled.
  • Organization skills to maintain the client facility maintenance records and reports.
  • Time management skills to coordinate and supervise the sub-contractors while on site and manage to complete the daily tasks assigned.
