Summary: The Assistant Front Desk Manager assumes most managerial duties when the Front Desk Manager is not available. This person will be responsible for overseeing guest services within the hotel and be responsible for employees at the Front Desk and other departments when the department manager is not available.
- Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Consistently practice, lead, and train the front office staff in all service culture programs and all front office standards.
- Have a thorough working knowledge of property, practices, processes, and management systems.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff for front office positions.
- Assist with training and support the staff and ensure performance in accordance with established hotel brand and standards.
- Ongoing coaching of staff to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Enforce all cash handling, check cashing and credit policies and verify banks and deposits at the end of shift.
- Working knowledge of all rates, packages, and booking restrictions.
- Distribution and communication of memos and general knowledge of updated material, service culture programs, and all required programs standards.
- Review the reservation transaction, Event and reports to ensure suite assignments, billing, etc.
- Review booked groups to ensure accuracy with group report, pre-block groups, tours, etc.
- Work with accounting on guest billing questions, and procedures for cash handling and front desk control measures
- Professionally handle guest complaints, solving problems and following up using our service culture standards.
- Assists with managing the front desk staff, night auditors, and valet staff.
- Assists with the schedule, training, and meetings to ensure that all staff members are properly trained in standards, policies and procedures and conduct themselves in a professional manner in all guest contact.
- Assumes functions of Front Desk and Night Auditor as necessary for coverage needs or budget restrictions.
- Monitors the pricing of competitors and understands the dynamics of the local market.
- Has the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under constraints.
- Must have knowledge of all aspects of hotel facilities.
