JOB SUMMARY

Project Site Manager will support the various power generation projects and objectives of Wyoming Machinery Company - Energy Solutions through direction and coordination by the Director of Engineering Procurement and Construction. To include local and remote, on site project management, as well as the required project administrative and safety functions, and a functional technical understanding of the projects. This will include daily site leadership of multidisciplinary project teams, assistance in developing, and enforcing project specific safety programs and requirements, schedule development and tracking, oversight of logistics and coordination of personnel and equipment to and from project sites, tracking of project financials to ensure financial health of the project at all stages, and daily oversight to ensure that installation and project function meets design, specification, code, and contractual criteria. In general, the Project Site Manager will ensure that projects are completed successfully - safely, on schedule, on budget, and in accordance to the various technical, contractual, and applicable code requirements. Project Site Manager will serve as Wyoming Machinery Energy Solutions' point person and on-site leader from start to finish for Power Generation Projects across the United States. Job placement will be based on knowledge, skills, and abilities in accordance with the following guidelines, including prior experience:

  • Project Site Manager: Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university required. A bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred, but not required. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Project / Construction Management and / or Power Generation is required. Preferably, a candidate shall have a demonstrated history of leadership progression and professional responsibilities as it relates to oversight, management, and project execution while leading multidisciplinary project teams. Additional certificates or endorsements from applicable training related to project management, application engineering, and power generation are preferred. Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and have the ability to lead teams of different trade and professional disciplines. Extensive technical knowledge of power generation equipment and processes (engine, generator, PV, BESS and electrical systems) is required. Experience using scheduling software, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, as well as Project Management Software, preferably Procore, is also required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•Project Site Manager will be required to function on multidisciplinary project teams and be able to learn, understand and facilitate the execution of Power Generation Projects that Wyoming Machinery Energy Solutions is awarded either as an EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) Contractor, or awarded in any of those specific capacities. Such Power Generation Projects will generally involve the following equipment and / or systems:

o Reciprocating Engine Driven Generator Sets (Diesel or Natural Gas Driven)

o Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and associated programming and software

o Solar Power (PV, Inverters, System Controllers, Racking and Tracking Systems, etc.)

o Other Energy Solutions Equipment, such as Power Transformers, Emissions Reduction Systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), etc.

Project / Construction Management:

•Follow the Energy Solutions Quality Assurance Program guide for each Project to ensure accuracy, efficiency and consistency.

•Provide communication with the general/ electrical contractors, engineers, commissioning personnel, customers, and/ or end users, about all aspects of a project during all stages of the project.

•Develop a project schedule in accordance with Energy Solutions standards and the customers' expectations. Schedule and Critical Path will be updated by Project Site Manager daily during projects, and shared with internal and external teams weekly, along with project look ahead intervals and updates / explanations regarding any Critical Path variance.

•Review and continuously track project deliverables and execution throughout all project stages as it relates to project contractual, technical, and code requirements. Collaborate as necessary with internal and external engineering and contractor personnel as necessary during these scope and leveling exercises to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and appropriate project planning and turnover.

•Coordinate and lead meetings throughout the life of the project (additional or fewer meetings might be required depending on the project):

o Project Kick-off meeting with all internal project stakeholders to review the requirements, schedule, and execution plan of the project.

o Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly Project Update meetings (as required depending on the project) with all internal and external stakeholders to review progress, discuss open action items, schedule progress, critical path variance, safety updates, budget updates, change order status, etc.

o Project review meeting following completion of the project with internal stakeholders to review budget, schedule, and contractual compliance, as well as any takeaways and improvement strategies and QA Program amendments.

•Source, purchase, and expedite package components and accessories, as necessary or required within project forecasted budgets and schedule constraints.

•Track Project costs throughout the life of the project to ensure budgets are met, and upon completion produce a levelized project cost summary.

•Collaborate with internal project and safety teams on amending Wyoming Machinery Energy Solutions Safety Program to apply to each specific project, as necessary. Project Site Manager will be responsible for the day to day implementation of the Safety Program on the project site, and for establishing and maintaining a culture of safety on the project site. Some specific examples of the safety program requirements as they relate to the Project Site Manager are listed below. Note that on many projects, dedicated Safety Leadership and Personnel will also be present, but Project Site Manager will be responsible for all items and coordination with Safety Personnel on activities such as:

o Lead Safety Meetings each morning prior to work beginning with all trades.

o Ensure that all trades fill out Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) documentation prior to each specific work task as required by Safety Program

o Ensure that all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is being worn at all times

o Ensure that all Site Safety Orientation, Sign In, and Personnel Tracking processes are being adhered to at all times as required by Safety Program.

o Facilitate site visits and safety audits routinely, and randomly, by Wyoming Machinery Energy Solutions Safety personnel.

o Coordinate, assist and support Site Safety Personnel as required on above tasks, as well as other safety specific tasks, such as Critical Lift Plans, as required to ensure that all Safety objectives are met for the project.

Project Reporting:

•Project Site Manager will keep track of all information regarding projects using the required software. The progress of each project and its current phase will be reported to the Director of Engineering Procurement and Construction. As the project(s) advances through the Process Phases, according to the Quality Assurance Program outline, the Project Site Manager will take the information to the Director of Engineering Procurement and Construction to review and sign off on each individual phase before the project advances to the next phase. The intent of this reporting is to keep accuracy, efficiency and history of each Energy Solutions project for continued future improvement and Quality Assurance measures.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

•Track and log critical project metrics and data to facilitate Wyoming Machinery Energy Solutions' continuous improvement strategies and Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program requirements

•Assist in coordinating advertising, promotion and marketing activities with other department, company, and external personnel as required during the project lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY
  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited 4yr College or University, preferably in Engineering, Construction Management or related Discipline.
  • Successful understanding of how engines, generators, PV and energy storage systems are used.
  • This individual must also have an excellent understanding of the use of computer software programs, such as, Microsoft, MS Project or Primavera P6, and Project Management Software (Procore or equivalent). (Experience in a professional setting required for II & III Levels.)
  • The Project Site Managers should also possess following skills/knowledge: ability to work effectively with others, both inside and outside the company, ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, strong public speaking skills, strong leadership ability, advanced computer skills, able to organize time and priorities, and be Self-motivated.


PREFERRED

•Experience in Power Generation is preferred.

•A thorough knowledge of Energy Systems (engine, generator, electrical, and control systems), and associated process / project management is preferred.

•Some technical knowledge of Energy and Power Systems will be helpful.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

•Material and equipment directly used: Company forms for quotes, rental contracts, invoicing, expense accounting and the like. The Project Site Manager will use product literature, reference material, and Company files. The PC, telephone, fax and other business tools will be used on a daily basis.

•Project Site Manager will work primarily on project locations, typically in remote areas. Project sites will typically include temporary offices in job trailers typical of a construction site.

•Visits to Company facilities, Wyoming Machinery Energy Solutions locations, customer offices and job sites.

•Must be able to work long days

•Days could require either sitting or walking / standing for 4 to 8 hours per day, depending on planned work activities that day

•Use hands for fine manipulation

•Walking up and down stairs

•Walking around construction sites during various stages of construction, which at times might involve large excavated areas, steeper grades / slopes, active cutting, welding, grinding activities occurring, and various electrical work at low, medium, and high voltages on the project sites.

•Capability to see, hear and feel machine condition indicators

•Lift up to fifty pounds on an infrequent basis

•Frequent travel by automobile and air required, with frequent overnight stays, and long consecutive durations on project locations required.

•Operate a company vehicle requiring a valid driver's license (driving record must meet company insurance standards and is reviewed annually).
