Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Project Specialist in the Transportation Solutions Department is responsible for overseeing ongoing projects and preparing for upcoming initiatives.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of assigned Truck Drivers
  • Management of Dispatch Operations
  • Coordination of Permitting Processes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Project Spreadsheets containing trucking metrics and detention information.
  • Leverage Transport Pro for Load creation and billing of completed deliveries.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to address any discrepancies.
  • Engage with Site Managers and Clients to ensure smooth operations.
  • Disseminate daily updates regarding detention times, schedules, and other relevant information.
  • Coordinate with other trucking firms involved in the project.
  • Conduct Pre-Project Checklists and manage Permitting requirements.
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with local clients to fulfill their orders efficiently.
  • Allocate resources and oversee all aspects of service transitions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Skill in de-escalating challenging interactions with clients, truck drivers, and site managers.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Dispatch Software.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to communicate effectively.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for various tasks.
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move items weighing up to 100 pounds and push/pull weights up to 350 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
