Sletten Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead our field projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing management direction, planning, and coordination of construction activities.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and assist in staffing key field positions.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate and division policy boundaries.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities.
- Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents to ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget.
- Represent Sletten Companies and assist in strategy meetings, OAE meetings, budget meetings, and other key events.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts, including fee payment, rental equipment, income, and expenses, to protect the company's interest and maintain good relationships with clients.
- Work with suppliers to facilitate and procure materials and equipment.
- Perform engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and handle minor problems of a technical nature arising during construction.
- Plan and estimate jobs, and schedule construction activities.
- Review and manage submittals, subcontracts, change orders, pay applications, RFI's, and other key project documents.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Division Manager.
- Four-year engineering degree or equivalent, or extensive (five or more years) experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management.
- Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance through understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.
- Business-oriented individual with a strong work ethic to do what it takes to get the job done efficiently, safely, and at the highest level of quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Familiarity with MSDS and OSHA basic knowledge, and ability to read and understand Sletten Safety Policy.
