Empath Health is currently seeking a Communication Specialist to join our team.

The mission of this role is to develop and implement communication strategies that foster a supportive and informed environment for patients, families, and healthcare staff, thereby enhancing the overall experience within the community health care setting. In the role of Communication Specialist at Empath Health, the individual will be pivotal in crafting and disseminating clear, empathetic, and strategic communications that resonate with all stakeholders. By managing internal channels effectively and maintaining a robust crisis communication plan, they ensure that staff are aligned with organizational policies and initiatives, while also providing patients and their families with accessible and understandable information. The continuous measurement and refinement of these efforts are crucial for optimizing engagement and satisfaction, making this role essential to the organization's mission of delivering compassionate community health care services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

While the ways that you fulfill these responsibilities will likely evolve, your core responsibilities are:

Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance colleague and client engagement and satisfaction.

On average this should be about 25% of your time. Among other things this means we expect you to:

  • Gauge employee and client feedback to refine communication tactics.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of different communication channels in reaching target audiences.
  • Adjust communication plans based on emerging healthcare trends and feedback.
Create clear, accessible informational materials for patients, their families, and healthcare staff to facilitate better understanding and care.

On average this should be about 30% of your time. Among other things this means we expect you to:
  • Design materials that meet evolving needs of both colleagues and patients.
  • Customize educational resources to cater to diverse patient needs.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to validate the accuracy of information.
Manage internal communication channels to keep staff informed and aligned with the organization's policies and initiatives.

On average this should be about 25% of your time. Among other things this means we expect you to:
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Introduce innovative communication tools to enhance staff connectivity.
  • Create a feedback loop for staff to contribute to internal communications.
  • Analyze the reach and clarity of messages across internal channels.
Conduct regular measurement and analysis of communication efforts to optimize outreach and educational initiatives.

On average this should be about 20% of your time. Among other things this means we expect you to:
  • Develop metrics to quantify the success of communication campaigns.
  • Identify patterns in engagement to inform future communication strategies.
  • Conduct surveys to gather direct feedback on communication effectiveness.
  • Apply data-driven insights to tailor communication approaches to audience segments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A basic understanding of not-for-profit and community health care
  • Proven experience in creating engaging content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other social media platforms, with a portfolio that highlights your creativity and effectiveness.
  • Well-versed in the latest trends, features, and best practices for content creation on TikTok and Instagram.
  • Skilled in storytelling, copywriting, and video editing, demonstrating a keen eye for detail.
  • Experienced in writing blogs and internal communications for various divisions within an organization.
  • Adheres to brand standards, accurately representing organizational vision and brand strategy while understanding and engaging a diverse audience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage projects independently from start to finish.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
