About the Role
The
Employee Benefits Analyst
iswith one of the country’s largest independent insurance brokers. Their Chicago team has a sophisticated health and welfare program that requires your expertise analyzing information and creating financial deliverables for clients with complex benefit programs. You are deeply involved in the marketing and renewal process, collaborating with the service and sales team to create RFPs and prepare proposal data for client presentations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Identify plans up for renewal and gather vendor information and client data for marketing purposes
Utilize analytical tools to analyze claims reports, enrollment reports, and utilization data to identify emerging trends, patterns, and anomalies within health and welfare plans
Provide benchmarking and plan modeling
Prepare financial information to include renewal projections, premium calculations, budgeting, and contribution strategies
Meet with clients to explain external market influencers and internal experience trends driving benefit costs
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree and minimum three (3) years of insurance carrier, benefits administration, or insurance agency role experience with health and welfare data analytics
Advanced Excel skills
Intermediate to advanced knowledge in healthcare funding strategies (fully insured, self-funded and level funded plans), healthcare plan structures, stop-loss insurance, pharmacy benefits, and ancillary benefits coverage

You work for the Chicago team which offers a hybrid schedule with the option to work from their downtown location or a couple different offices within the north/northwest suburbs.
