Position Summary Shared Equipment Authority (SEA) is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform accounting functions for the Shared Equipment Authority (SEA), GDEC, and the BioMaterials Service center under the auspice of the Office of Research. They will provide reports and analysis to the SEA board, SEA Chair, Director of Operations, and the Assoc VP for Research Operations and Administration. They will also ensure all accounting principles as outlined in Circular A-21 (allowable costs) are followed and are familiar with Circular A-110 (policy on administrative grants) to ensure the integrity of the service center is maintained. Moreover, they will coordinate efforts with the SEA administrative team and technical staff. Candidates should be familiar with fund accounting. The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of fund accounting and Microsoft Excel, experience with financial analysis and reporting, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong attention to detail and accuracy. This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Policy can change depending on recruiting time of year. Per Rice policy 440 , work arrangements may be subject to change. Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.
